How to Claim District of Columbia Lottery Prizes

Claim up to $600 win or free plays

  • Method 1 – Visit the nearest authorized retailer to claim instantly. Most retailers such as convenience stores and garages will hold enough in reserve to pay you your full amount in person.
  • Method 2 – Mail your winning ticket to the DC Headquarters having signed it first along with a copy of your ID as requested.

Claim over $600 up to $5,000

  • Method 1 – Visit one of the Retailer Plus locations listed on this page.
  • Method 2 – Complete a claim form and mail it along with your signed ticket, ID copy and Social Security Card to the DC Lottery Prize Center.

Claim more than $5,000

  • Method 1 – Visit the DC Lottery Prize Center having called first to make an appointment. Be sure to bring your signed ticket, competed claim form, original social security card and some photo ID.
  • Method 2 – Mail your claim form, photo ID, Social Security Card and signed original winning ticket to the DC Lottery Prize Center.
