A daily numbers game where players select a three-digit number and choose a play type (straight, box, straight/box, or combo). If the chosen number matches the drawn number in the exact order or in any order players can win prizes ranging from $25 to $500.

CT Play 4

Play 4

A daily numbers game where players pick a four-digit number and select a play type. Prizes are awarded based on the chosen play type and how closely the selected number matches the drawn number.

CT Cash 5

Cash 5

A daily draw game where players select five numbers from a pool of 35 and matching all five numbers drawn can lead to a rolling jackpot that starts at $100,000.

CT Lotto!

Lotto!

A twice-weekly drawn game where players choose six numbers from a set of 44. To win the jackpot all six chosen numbers must match the drawn numbers.

Mega Millions

A multi-state game with large jackpots that can reach hundreds of millions of dollars. Players choose five numbers from a pool of 70 and a Mega Ball number from a pool of 25 with a hope to match all numbers to win the jackpot.

Powerball

How to Buy Connecticut Lottery Tickets

All CT Lottery tickets can be purchased in-store at authorized locations showing the lottery logo. Here are the current game prices:

How to Claim Connecticut Lottery Prizes

Claim up to $599 win or free plays

  • Method 1 – Visit your nearest authorized retailer to claim your prize over the counter.
  • Method 2 – Mail your signed ticket and appropriate ID to the Connecticut Lottery to claim.

Claim $600 - $5,000 win

  • Method 1 – Visit your nearest Claim Center or alternatively visit the CT Lottery Headquarters.
  • Method 2 – Post your winning ticket once signed and include some ID to the Connecticut Lottery address.

Claim $5,001 - $49,999 win

  • Method 1 – Visit a convenient Claim Center or the Headquarters if closer to claim in person.
  • Method 2 – Mail your winning ticket (once details are completed on the rear of ticket) along with some ID to the claim address.

Claim over $50,000 win

Winning amounts over $50,000 will need to be claimed in person via an appointment at the CT Lottery Headquarters. Simply phone them to make a booking during opening hours that suits you.

  • $100,000 - Powerball - Meriden:
    Michael Chesson checked his Powerball ticket and matched four winning numbers and the red Powerball number. Rechecking to make sure he called his wife who was on her way to work to share the exciting news.
  • $25,000 a year for life - Lucky for Life - Norwalk:
    Donald considered a Mega Millions ticket but went with Lucky for Life. Checking it a week later a message appeared: "2nd prize claim at headquarters". Little did he expect $25,000 every year for life.
  • $7,604 - Play4 Night - Hartford:
    Jenella loved using her birthday as her lucky Play4 Night number. After playing in Virginia without winning she tried her luck in Connecticut and her persistence paid off with a $5,000 win on one ticket and an additional $2,604 on another.

The Connecticut Lottery Corporation also known as the CT Lottery has been a source of entertainment and anticipation for the residents of Connecticut since its establishment in 1971.

With a mission to generate revenue to support the state's valuable services the Lottery has contributed significantly to education, health and public safety programs.

History

  • 1971 - The Connecticut Lottery is established under state legislation.
  • February 1972 - The first lottery game tickets go on sale.
  • April 1980 - "Lotto" is introduced as its first major draw game.
  • June 1996 - The creation of the Connecticut Lottery Corporation leads to enhanced management and growth.
  • September 1996 - "Play3" and "Play4" daily number games are introduced.
  • January 1998 - The official website is launched.
  • March 2002 - The introduction of "Lucky-4-Life," a regional draw game.
  • July 2006 - Celebrates its 2 billionth dollar transferred to the state's General Fund.
  • April 2016 - The "Keno" game is introduced providing additional entertainment.
  • November 2018 - Connecticut joins the multi-state "Mega Millions" and "Powerball" games.
  • June 2020 - The CT Lottery app is launched.
