Frequently Asked Questions
Players select three numbers each from 0 to 9. You can manually pick your numbers or use the Quick Pick option where the lottery terminal randomly selects numbers for you.
You can play the same numbers for up to 28 consecutive evening draws by marking the appropriate box on your play slip for Advance Play.
You can win by matching the drawn numbers in exact order (Straight), any order (Box), exact or any order (Straight/Box), or by matching pairs (Front Pair or Back Pair).
Winning numbers can be checked right here on the USA Lottery website, on the official Colorado Lottery website, or at authorized retailers.
Odds vary by play type; for example the odds of winning on a Straight play are 1 in 1,000, while the odds can improve with different types of Box plays depending on the numbers chosen.
Tickets must be purchased before 7:30 PM Mountain Time on the night of the draw to be eligible for that evening's drawing.
For prizes up to a certain amount, typically $599, you can claim your winnings at any authorized retailer. For larger prizes, you may need to visit a Colorado Lottery claim center or mail in your signed winning ticket with a claim form.
Prize amounts for the evening draw are fixed based on the type of bet and the amount wagered rather than accumulating like a jackpot, so there isn't a "largest prize" in the traditional sense.
Lottery winnings are subject to federal and state taxes. The Colorado Lottery will withhold taxes on prizes over a certain amount as required by law.
Colorado Lottery tickets need to be purchased from an authorized retailer and are not available for online purchase.
Lottery tickets are bearer instruments so it's important to sign and keep them in a safe place. If a ticket is lost before it is signed, anyone can claim the prize. Lost tickets cannot be replaced or refunded.
Colorado law allows lottery winners of prizes over $600 to request that their name not be released to the public.
'Straight/Box' gives you a chance to win both the Straight and Box prizes if your numbers match the winning numbers in exact order, or win the Box prize if they match in any order. 'Combo' plays give you all possible Straight combinations of your numbers, increasing your chance of winning.
Unclaimed prize money is used to fund future prizes and various state programs supported by the Colorado Lottery.
Wins occur daily with the frequency of winning varying by the play type and the strategy used by the player. The more tickets you buy, the higher your chances of winning, but remember it's important to play responsibly.
